Guest：My wife & i stayed here for 1 night,whilst attending a Tom Jones concert at the open air theatre,which is nearby I can only endorse all the positive reviews that have been left for this excellent hotel.Our room was spotless,as was the whole hotel. The breakfast was great We were greeted by the most lovely,fun landlady that we have ever come across. Leeza is a gem,she is a genuinely friendly lady.When we return to Scarborough we will endeavour to stay at The Villa Marina.Thank you for a wonderful stay....Mr & Mrs Clark (room 11)
Guest：Well appointed, well run guesthouse. Owners are lovely and obviously care for their business. Room was really comfy and extremely clean. Lovely place to stay, 5 minutes from sea front and open air theatre. Would absolutely recommend and do try the breakfast. We will be back.
Guest：We stayed for one night as we were going to see McFly at the open-air theatre. I wanted a hotel close by and stumbled across Villa Maria. Arriving at the hotel we hit the jackpot as it was directly over the road to Peasholm Park and minutes away from the entrance to the open-airport theatre, a bonus particularly when heading back after the show. No ca parks or queuing for us! We arrived early after struggling to park in town. We asked if we could leave the car knowing we couldn't check in yet. We were welcome to park but also were informed that if we wanted to hang around for ten minutes that we could have our room. We happily waited and were shown our room. We were in room 14 on the top floor. As we were shown where everything is/how things work it was mentioned that the plumbing can be slow as the water reaches the top floor. I get the feeling they may have had negativity surrounding this previously. The shower wasn't the greatest at times more sprinkle rather than a powerful spray. We got by with it and it would be our only real complaint. It certainly didn't spoil our stay. With the way the room was facing, it was scorching due to the sun and a rare heatwave. There was a fan in the room which did cool things off a little bit overnight along with the windows being open. The likelihood of it being as hot as this regularly is slim to none so I wouldn't expect it to be a common issue. The room was a decent size, with an ensuite bathroom, a double bed, a TV, and a tea & coffee station. Breakfast was available for an additional fee of ￡10pp. We decided to take up the option of breakfast which was excellent value. The owners were very welcoming throughout, always happy to have a chat when we saw them. They have great knowledge of the area and gave us great advice on the best places to visit and eat locally. Great host, homely hotel, fantastic location to the North Bay facilities and a real hidden gem. Next time we are staying in Scarborough, hopefully seeing another show, we know where we will be trying to book in first. Thanks for having us for a great weekend.
