Guest：We had a lovely overnight stay at the Galleon Inn. They easily accommodated a change of date. The room was perfect, with a large, comfortable bed and a gorgeous view with a Juliet balcony directly overlooking the Fowey estuary. Breakfast was very good.
Guest：Very expensive but a lovely much needed stay - after a sleepless previous night. Thought it would be noisy being a popular bar & restaurant, but grateful for a back room overlooking roofs. Slept like a log! Lovely breakfast, no complaints. Happy to recommend.
Guest：Really good pub with outdoor seating right on the estuary. Reasonably priced food, nice welcoming staff and very close the ferry back to Polruan. I'd highly recommend the hake. Review guidelines suggest I say more but I would say just visit and enjoy your food on the estuary with lovely views.
Guest：We stayed two nights on 18/19 July. Do not stay in the Sandpiper room as it directly looks over a walled courtyard within the hotel with tables and benches. We were told after we booked that this is a pub hotel. We expected chatter laughter and music. But on Friday night we got an extremely raucous crowd just below our room. They were shouting yelling screaming and chanting. At one point we thought a fight would break out. We had gone to bed about 10.30 pm as we had a long drive back home next day. After 11 pm I’d had enough and phoned the hotel number several times but it just cut off every time. Eventually at 11.45 lights were turned off and a loud yell went up as they didn’t want to leave. When we complained to the manageress the next morning her response was” that’s no louder than any other Friday night” She said they were arm wrestling and chanting. She had a take it or leave it attitude. I asked if she had told them to tone down the noise. She said she had. I asked wasn’t she concerned for the comfort and well-being of PAYING GUESTS? She shrugged. I said she should have asked them to leave when they didn’t quieten down. Again she said “ it’s no different to any other Friday night” When I asked why I couldn’t get through to the phone number she had no idea!! She also said that the rules are no staff member is allowed to have their mobile phones with them while working! Including her.Even though the number is listed on the information in the room. So I asked what happens if there is a medical emergency or plumbing emergency in the rooms ? She said call the main phone but it was definitely switched off after 11pm. Eventually she took ￡ 50 off our bill . Not really enough for the disturbance we endured. So she is going to loose a lot of money if the guests have to put up with that noise every Friday. She just couldn’t care less. The breakfasts were good and the view was lovely but we won’t be staying there again. The bar area was very tired with holes in the tub chairs and needed a redecoration .
