Guest：From the moment you go through the gates you enter a haven of tranquility. A warm welcome from Philippe who makes every effort to make your stay memorable. The garden is extraordinary and makes the place what it is. The rooms are spacious, with a high quality bed and spotlessly clean. The pool area is relaxing and the array of jams at breakfast is more than Bonne Maman. I’d say it’s the perfect base for an Alpilles holiday.
Guest：Just a 5 minute drive from St. Rémy, Philippe has created a magical entrance to his cooking class area through a labyrinth of paths wending through the most extensive rose garden I could imagine, accented by his own sculptural creations throughout. Then you arrive at the ‘mas’ and the adjacent dining area and simple working kitchen, opening to a large terrace and pool area. Philippe is indeed passionate about Mediterranean cuisine and gives a charming master class in the preparation of indescribably delicious yet simple dishes of local vegetables. He and his amiable sous-chef Gemma seemingly effortlessly produce a feast, inviting guests (in this case just my wife and me) to participate as we wanted. The conversation is easy and, beyond discussing the food prep and ingredients, ranged from Philippe’s impressive restaurant background to his passions for the simple and vigorous life, to Provence. I wish we’d been a large group to finish Philippe’s and Gemma’s delicious production. As it was, we took what leftovers we reasonably could, and left with deep appreciation for Philippe’s craft, newfound culinary skills (or aspirations), and an enduring, cherished memory of the afternoon at Mas des Figues.
Guest：If you're looking for a true French countryside experience, this is the place for you. The rooms are rustic, cozy, and original. The property owner, Philippe is the most wonderful and charming host. He truly made the stay so special with his homemade, farm-to-table, organic breakfasts and open gardens (where you can enjoy fresh figs right off the branches!). The property inspires creativity with Philippe's sculpture garden and many artworks. We loved decompressing and relaxing near the gardens during our downtime. The location is also centrally located to many nearby destinations in Provence. We will absolutely be back!
Guest：Wow!!! This place is amazing. Very peaceful, no sounds of traffic, beautiful smells from the magnificent all natural gardens. Phillipe is a wonderful host sharing his beautiful home with his guests. His vegetarian breakfast was fabulous. We enjoyed a picnic on his porch one evening after buying some local cheeses and wine.
