Abbey Lodge is a 10-minute drive from to the Salthill area, with its promenade and beaches. It is also within close proximity to the departure point of tours around Connemara, the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands.

Guest：Our stay at Abbey Lodge was refreshing. I'll admit, when my mom, sister and I first saw our Triple Room, it looked small and we were worried it would be a tight squeeze; however, the layout was smart and we never got in each other's way. We were impressed with the room's ample amenities, and enjoyed a good night's rest in a quieter part of Galway. Breakfast in the morning is located down the road at their sister property, St. Jude's. It's filling and delicious! The staff is also very organized! Check in and out was seamless and quick.
Guest：Sean and Donal were lifesavers. We had booked a different hotel and it didn't work out for a multitude of reasons. We checked out the Abbey and it was perfect. The room was plenty spacious, nicely updated, very comfortable and clean. We had full access to the kitchen; dishes, microwave, refrigerator, etc. There is a cute dining area, and small backyard. Breakfast was excellent, just down the street. Nice variety everyday and Sean and Donal are excellent hosts. It was a home away from home. We were able to park there as we had rented a car, but we did not need to drive anywhere in Galway as the room was within walking distance to anywhere we wanted to go. There are also bike rentals right across the street and the city bus goes right by. We changed our plans and stayed another night before moving on. I would highly tecommend staying here to any of my family and friends. We hope to be able to return some day.
Guest：I only stayed at this place one night, but was treated like a king. The twin brothers who own the guest house are really nice and helpful people. The buffet breakfast was also really great. I'll go back there any day.
Guest：Accomodations are fine BUT there are 3 similar buildings in a row with sign between 2 that says Galway Guesthouses(plural). There was nothing in the information that said the Guesthouse was only one of these buildings. We got in after midnight and parked in the lot in the middle . We awoke at 8 am to find our car blocked in . When we knocked on the door we were scoled for being rude . We politely apologized and said the host should have made us aware of this and were told he didnt need to this should have been evident to us. After being talked down to for 15 minutes they let us out . I understand her frustration as she said this happens often but is easily corrected with a No Parking sign and instructions from the host . Guest be WARNED about parking. Also most of these pictures are not of Abbey Lodge but of there sister lodge down the street where you have to go for breakfast.
