Today was a very important and memorable day for us. It was the day when the officers of our office came together with their family members to celebrate and express their happiness at the end-of-year gathering for 2025. We organized this event at MRD Beach Hotel, located at Alasthota, Uppuvelli, Trincomalee. The hotel manager and staff welcomed us warmly and treated us with great care and hospitality. The food we enjoyed today, especially the chicken biryani, was extremely delicious. In addition, the swimming pool was very beautiful and well maintained. The care and attention shown by the staff were beyond our expectations. The restaurant was spacious and arranged in a very professional manner, providing all the necessary facilities. Overall, MRD Beach Hotel is a well-equipped hotel with excellent services. Thank you.
Prima hotel dichtbij het strand. Het is echt maar 50m lopen naar het strand. Kamers zijn basic, met airco. Je betaald echt voor de locatie. Het is absoluut schoon en netjes. Ontbijt is lekker maar niet uitgebreid. De kinderen hebben zich elke ochtend gestort op de pannekoeken met banaan. Kinderen vonden het zwembad een leuke afwisseling van de zoute zee.
Abbiamo fatto un tour dello Sri Lanka, facendo gli ultimi 5 giorni in questo hotel. è sicuramente il migliore che abbiamo trovato,? pulito e ben organizzato, è in una posizione strategica : vicino alla spiaggia organizzata con ombrelloni e ristoranti, e vicino ad una zona più interna con ristoranti e negozi e supermarket, la piscina è fantastica e ben tenuta, ottima per un pó di relax se non si vuole stare al mare o per rinfrescarsi la sera prima rientrare in camera. Il personale è cordiale e ben organizzato, buona la colazione con frutta fresca ogni giorno e quant'altro si voglia, il manager è una persona fantastica sempre pronto ad aiutarti sia per chiamare un tuk tuk che per prenotare un ristorante o darti consigli su dove andare, e ultimo ma non meno importante hanno un servizio di lavanderia ottimo e veloce, ci hanno dato quanti asciugamani abbiano chiesto senza problemi, e rifatto la camera ogni volta che lo abbiamo chiesto. Noi siamo stati benissimo, se mai torneremo a Tricomalee sicuramente torneremo qui. We toured Sri Lanka, spending the last five days at this hotel. It's definitely the best we've found, clean and well-organized, and in a strategic location: close to the organized beach with umbrellas and restaurants, and close to a more inland area with restaurants, shops, and a supermarket. The pool is fantastic and well-maintained, perfect for a bit of relaxation if you don't want to be in the beach or for cooling off in the evening before returning to your room. The staff is friendly and well-organized, the breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit every day and anything else you could want. The manager is a fantastic person, always ready to help, whether it's calling a tuk-tuk, making restaurant reservations, or offering recommendations on where to go. Last but not least, they have an excellent and fast laundry service; they gave us as many towels as we asked for without any problem, and cleaned our room every time we asked. We had a wonderful time; if we ever return to Tricomalee, we'll definitely stay here again.
We found that Trinco was quite busy so there was not much choice left… the hotel is in a good location and the pool is nice. Rooms average with basic bathrooms and very noirs air conditioning. Staff pleasant but sometimes strange things happened like they kept taking or drying rack to give to other rooms! Hello we are still in our room… Ok if nothing else available in the price range but expensive so what the rooms are like.
We verbleven 3 nachten in dit hotel. Het reisbureau dat onze hotels boekte had een fout gemaakt met dit hotel. Dit werd door de manager van MDR Beach Hotel netjes opgelost, hoewel dit buiten zijn schuld lag. Een prima hotel, schoon, fijne bedden, rustig en dicht bij het strand gelegen.
This was one of the cleanest hotel we had stayed in so far. Facilities were great and swimming pool well designed so that children could enjoy also in safety. The staff were outstanding. What a breakfast it was so big we had to give a list for next day as we are whims and cannot eat that much! We also got our laundry done here for 500rps per klg . Good situation near to the beach and they directed us to the Blue sands restaurant which again was good for dinner. Well done guys it was a great stop. Shame you don’t take cards though ??
Excellent staff and very clean. I will definitely go back there to stay if I go to Trincomalee. Each staff member is very polite and helpful. Enjoyed the traditional breakfast. I went from Australia and very surprised to see the lavish shower and toilet. Very happy with the stay.
Lovely place to stay, amazing location right next to the beach. Breakfast was included hiwever it would of been nice to have a choice rather than just egg but it was ok. Really quiet in september so made it even better. Staff helpful and lovely. Thank you!

Not a great hotel, Definitely not a 4 star hotel.( 3 * standard) Something wrong with a drainage system , awful smell in the shower/wash basin area. No toiletries provided & no safety locker in the room. Food was okay. low standard of cleanliness.
