We hired a cabin for 2 but got a 2 bedroom family unit. It was very expensive $760 for 2 nights! It was our anniversary so we thought we’d splurge but it wasn’t a romantic getaway. Our cabin was in between 2 roads tge in and out with gates on either side people stopping to use the scanner. Bedroom right beside this. At night it did stop. No hairdryer in bathroom. Pretty basic for what we paid. Won’t do that again. Pluses are right beside the beach. Can walk into town easily. So make sure you’re ok with all this and check what cabin you’re getting.

We stayed in a cabin for 4 people . On arrival the floors needed cleaning and the general cleanliness was missing. Cabins are basic even tho’ the camp site are charging over $300 a night ! Amenities around the camp are clean. Stairs to the beach are an accident waiting to happen , uneven , poor hand rail , too deep , too steep. This is the only access to the beach from the camp site . Negotiating the stairs with young children and the beach gear that goes with them was a nightmare .

Really love this holiday park and have been staying here for over 40 years. It is not a very big park and is in a lovely location. Close to Byron Bay shops (1km) and on the road to the lighthouse - Australia’s most easterly point. But it does have some issues:- Being an old park situated on crown land with lots of trees the sites can go from very small to moderate size. A lot of people come here and find sites cramped and hard to get onto. If you have a larger rig I would recommend inspecting before booking if possible. The beach at Byron has suffered from erosion over the last few years. This has caused some loss of amenity in this park. Its viewing deck and stairs were removed due to storm damage, as was its communal cooking/tv lounge. It now has temporary stairs which are verging on dangerous and have been for some time. Hopefully this will eventually be resolved. Unfortunately the money is being pumped into ever more cabins and not general infrastructure. Price will also be an issue for many. This appears to be treated as the cash cow for the whole organisation and prices here can be upto twice the price of other parks within the same group -‘it’s Byron Bay!’ So if you’re on a tight budge this is probably not for you. Not too many grey nomads or backpackers doing it on the cheap here.

This is a great park for location purposes if you want to get to the beach quickly. We had a large site up the back (134) w which was nice and protected in the windy days. The park is close to the lighthouse walk and shops. Amenities were clean and well kept. We’ll be back for sure.
